Family Therapy
Family therapy provides a structured space to slow down, understand patterns within your relationships, and strengthen connection within your family system. Whether you are navigating parenting challenges, ongoing conflict, or feeling disconnected from one another, our work focuses on building greater emotional steadiness, clearer communication, and practical strategies that support daily life at home.
I work with families in a variety of forms — including parents and children together, parents seeking guidance around parenting concerns, and couples who want to strengthen their relationship within the larger family context. Sessions blend insight into relational patterns with skill-building that supports more respectful, regulated interactions.
Family therapy may be helpful if you’re noticing:
Ongoing conflict or tension within the family
Challenges with communication or boundaries
Parenting feeling overwhelming, reactive, or isolating
A child struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, or behavior
Transitions such as changes in routine, school, family structure, or stressors
A desire to feel more connected and aligned as a family
You don’t need to be in crisis to begin family therapy. Many families seek support when they want things to feel more manageable, calm, and connected at home.
Who Family Therapy is for
My Approach
My approach to family therapy is collaborative, relational, and grounded in understanding each family member’s experience. We look at patterns — how stress shows up, how emotions are expressed, and how everyone responds to one another — without blame or judgment.
Together, we work to:
Improve communication and emotional understanding
Support parents in feeling more confident and regulated
Help children feel safe, seen, and understood
Create practical strategies that fit your family’s values and daily life
When children are involved, I often incorporate play-based and developmentally appropriate approaches to help them express what they’re carrying in ways that feel natural and safe.
Is Family Therapy a Good Fit?
Family therapy is a good fit if you’re looking for ongoing, relationship-based support that helps your family grow together over time. Early on, we’ll collaborate to create a treatment plan that reflects your goals — whether that’s improving communication, supporting a child, or strengthening family connection.
Sessions are scheduled collaboratively and may include different family members at different points, depending on what feels most helpful. This flexibility allows the work to remain responsive as needs shift.
Some families choose therapy intensives instead of or alongside ongoing sessions. Intensives offer focused, extended time together and are often helpful for addressing parenting concerns, family stress, or anxiety more quickly. We can talk through both options and decide what level of support best fits your family.
Session Options
Family therapy sessions are offered in both in-person and telehealth formats and follow a traditional session structure. Session length is set at 50 minutes. Frequency is determined collaboratively based on your family’s needs and goals.
